Pharmacy Technician - 1050 hours

Basic Healthcare Worker (90 hrs)
Community Pharmacy Technician (360 hrs)
Pharmacy Technician (600 hrs)

New Program. First time offered at MTI. Pharmacy technicians work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist. Pharmacy technicians prepare prescription medications, provide customer service, and perform administrative duties within a pharmacy setting. While responsibilities vary depending on the pharmacy, pharmacy technicians are generally responsible for receiving prescription requests and counting and labeling medications. They may also perform necessary administrative functions such as answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating cash registers. This exciting program prepares students for the newly adopted registration requirement for pharmacy technicians in the State of Florida.
