This program prepares graduates for employment as phlebotomists. The collection of a blood specimen is necessary and important in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The process involves correct patient/client identification and safe collection of blood with minimum discomfort to the client resulting in a quality blood specimen that ensures accurate and reliable laboratory values. Successful completion of this program prepares students to take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
