Our program enjoys a 100-percent chapter membership in SkillsUSA-VICA.SkillsUSA-VICA is a career and technical student organization (CTSO), which helps students to develop professional skills, as well as leadership and employability skills for a successful career.The Web Design program at MTI is recognized for attaining a 100-percent chapter membership in SkillsUSA-VICA and for supporting its goals and purposes.SkillsUSA-VICA offers a skills and leadership competition, in which students strive to achieve excellence in a variety of job skills and leadership areas

.Competitions begin locally and continue through the state and national levels. Contest champions are presented with medallions to the top three winners from the secondary and post secondary categories of students.Although the Web Design program has only existed since 2001, the program was very successful in the SkilsUSA-VICA contest during the Web Design competitions.

In a short period students from our program won 10 medals: 4 golden medals, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. So far the Web design competition has been offered only on a state level, but we are proud to recognize that we are the best in Florida among the career professionals and students. We also hope that next year we will have opportunity to win at the National level.
