PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 35 years of age or older,
    and
  • Have worked in home providing upaid household services for family members (a homemaker)
    and
  • Are not adequately employed
    and
  • Have had or would have difficulty in securing adequate employment
    and
  • Have been dependent on the income of another family member but is no longer supported by that income (divorced, widowed, disabled spouse)
    or
  • Have been dependent on federal assistance.

The New Options Center was established to assist women and men, 35 years of age or older, in their attempts to return to the job market and/or upgrade their skills in order to earn a livable wage and become financially independent.

Services are FREE to those who qualify!

New Options is a state program funded by the Agency for Work-force Innovation and administered by the School Board of Manatee County.
