Child Care

Early Childhood Education - 600 hours


Child Care Worker - 40 hours
Child Care Teacher Aide - 150 hours
Preschool Teacher - 300 hours
Child Care Development Specialist - 150 hours

This class covers basic child care and prepares students to test for entry level into the workforce. It is open to both high school students and adults. THe classmeets daily from 7:45 to 10:45am for two semesters. One hour per day is in-classroomand the other two hours are spent in the Early Educare Child Care Center with supervision.

Child Care Apprenticeship - 288 hours


A CDA Equivalency program that provides the advanced credentials necessary to meet DCF licensing standards. A two-year program with 288 class hours and 4000 hours of on-the job training. Requirements: Must be a full-time employee at a licensed, participating child care facility, be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED. Classes begin 8/20/07 and 1/8/08. Application is processed through employer.Tuition is free.
