The purpose of this program is to prepare students for gainful employment as boat builders and fiberglass, gel coat and paint technicians. Students will learn boat building and marine fiberglass repair through primarily hands-on instruction in a shop environment. Employment opportunities include marine manufacturing, new boat dealerships, and yacht service centers located all over this state and country. The content includes, but is not limited to, fiberglass lamination, gel coat refinishing, paint application, epoxy repair techniques, employability skills, safe work practices, basic marine rigging, plumbing, and electrical systems.
