Funds Raised for Tornado Victims

The manatee Technical Institute student chapter of SkillsUSA held fundraisers to help the schools in Greensburg, Kansas, a town devastated by a tornado last May. Cosmetology students offered full salon services, automotive students provided oil changes, and Travel and Tourism students sold hotdogs on MTI main campus. Cosmetology students also held carwashes, donating the 25% to Greensburg and helping fund their trip to the national competition. The students joined other SkillsUSA chapters across the nation to give to the Kansas Department of Education for Greensburg schools. Manatee students raised $ 1,000 for the effort.
